(NewJersey.CityRegions.Com, May 28, 2014 ) Philadelphia, PA -- Inspired by his father, the owner of Chapter House has commissioned the creation of a new rosary. This rosary is a unique, custom design that was originally suggested by the owner's father many years ago.
This beautiful rosary has a dark cross made from the soil taken from under the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. And the beads are all natural, olive wood harvested in an environmentally friendly way as they are made only from the prunings of ancient olive trees growing in the Bethlehem region, the site of the nativity of Jesus (Matt 2, Luke 2).
The olive wood used in these beautiful rosaries is of the highest quality and is distinctive for its dark lines. It comes only from olive wood trees that are grown in the area between Shechem and Hebron that are not irrigated. The olive tree is a protected species in Israel and can not be cut down.
Once every two years the olive trees are pruned so that they bear fruit and it is from these prunings that these handcrafted pieces are made. The prunings are stored for almost 5 years before they are used by the craftsmen for these exquisite pieces.
Mr. Thomas, the owner of Chapter House remembers that his father had a passionate devotion to his faith. And especially to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary.
In his life, he devoted himself to the church. He was ordained as a deacon in the Catholic Church and he spent the last 40 years of his life in service to the sick, the weak, the impaired and the criminals. He worked tirelessly at that task through 4 or 5 states that he lived in for almost 40 years. Working with the sick and the poor, visiting hospitals and jails. He would sit or stand or kneel with the people he visited and the first thing he would do, every time he visited, was to share the gift of the rosary.
He felt very strongly that each time a person said the rosary, their lives were a little bit better.
One of the main goals of his life, after he raised his children and provided for his family, was to bring the devotion to the Blessed Mother to as many people as he possibly could. His vision was to get a rosary into the hands of as many people as possible. He asked his sons to continue his mission and to create an organization that would continue his work. He felt that could change the world. If everyone could stop and unite around the rosary once each day, the world would be a better place.
"To honor the legacy of my father," Mr. Thomas says, "I have created this beautiful rosary and intend to continue his work."
